Sahayeta Nepal Earthquake Relief Update

October 15, 2015

Dear Donors,

The earthquake changed a lot of us forever. This is definitely true for Sahayeta as an organization. Sahayeta started as an organization focused on serving the Himalayan community in the Bay Area and today, we find our commitment to Nepal is stronger than ever. Several of our team members have left their jobs and moved to Nepal to contribute towards the rebuilding efforts. We are also in the process of registering Sahayeta.Org as a non profit organization in Nepal.

Along with our partner, Youth Thinkers’ Society (YTS) we are crowdsourcing innovative ideas in the areas of Education, Public Health, Technology, Tourism and Agriculture. Our goal is to pick top 2 ideas in each of the above mentioned themes and fund those as programs. This forum is open for anyone to participate in. Please submit your innovative, cost effective and tangible ideas by Oct 18th, 2015 to qualify. For more details, click here.

Update on Rebuilding Schools:

Phase 2 of the reconstruction of Shree Manjushree High School in Jyamrung- 3, Dhadhing is now complete. Sahayeta board members recently visited the school which serves 450 students from Nursery to 10 grade. (See pictures below}
