Holiday Toy Drive

Oakland

Sahayeta.Org, in partnership BACC and the Street Level Health Project, held a toy drive for Nepalese Bhutanese refugee kids. Free lunch, books and toys were provided to almost hundred attendees.

Free flu shots for Nepalese Bhutanese Refugees

Oakland

Together with the Bhutanese American Community Center (BACC) and the Street Level Health Project, Sahayeta.Org provided free flu shots to more than a hundred newly resettled Nepalese Bhutanese refugees

Participated in the “Get Out The Vote” event sponsored by KQED and the English Learning Center. The event apolitically encouraged people in the Bay Area to exercise their right to vote.

Fundraising for victims of Saptakoshi flood in Nepal

  • Sent collected funds to the Nepal Red Cross Society in order to support their relief effort

Bhutanese Nepalese refugee re-settlement project

  • Distribute new and used kitchenware, blankets, computers and other basic necessities to newly arrived Nepalese Bhutanese refugee families
  • Provide a general orientation to families in order to familiarize them to the Bay Area
  • Become a support system to the families on an ongoing and needs basis and introduce them to available resources
